And finally...my family!

The last few days....
Well I am now home and I haven't been near this blog for the best part of a week so time to catch up...!
Last Saturday was a trip to the Dandenongs and on my fourth trip to Oz I finally got to go on Puffing Billy!
We didn't quite make it in time for the Santa Special - but you get the idea! We spent an hour on Puffing Billy just travelling along enjoying the wonderful views and luckily the weather was good to us!
After the train journey we headed up to Mount Dandenong itself and then the heavens opened! The views from this place are spectacular and you can see all over Melbourne, but with the torrential downpour which meant we couldn't even get out of the car, all we could see was mist!!!
Nonetheless we consoled ourselves by heading off to Miss Marples tearooms and tucking into some home made scones and clotted cream as well as some hot chocolate!
Sunday was a friend's BBQ day and then it was shopping all the way on Monday and my last day on Wednesday!!
Everyone came over to the house wednesday for the final farewell and all too soon it was time to say goodbye - which as I am sure you can imagine was extremely challenging!
My flights home were good and I was relieved to be able to land at Heathrow without any hassle at all - in fact we were 10mins early! The snow had very little effect on my journey and I was home by mid-afternoon. So I am home and getting back into the UK way - realising that people here are a bit bonkers!!
I've had a ball over the last month and I cannot wait until I can do it again. Melbourne is a fantastic place and I have great family and friends there - I'd highly recommend the place to anyone who is considering going there and despite some strange weather changes it is certainly the place to be!!!
